Payal is an architect and set, costume and lighting designer from India. She is currently in her first year of the MFA, Theater Design program at the University of Alberta. Prior to joining the program, she designed commercial and feature films, television, and TV commercials in the Indian film industry. She has received her undergraduate degree in Architecture from University of  Mumbai, India. She has also worked as a scenic painter for many theater shows. She is an emerging theater designer who is interested in exploring the possibilities of amalgamating different aspects of theater and film.
