Emma Nokes

Creative Team, Head of Sound, Sound Mixer
Emma Nokes

Emma is currently completing her fourth and final year of the BFA Technical Production Program. This production boasts a large undertaking in the technical works for sound as Emma will be live mixing for the actors, as well as operating the sound for the show while having a vital role as the head of the sound department. The opportunity to live mix typically happens only one show per season at the University and it provides an excellent learning experience. Previous sound work includes sound designing for the BLT’s rendition of Cock by Mike Bartlett, Directed by Brett Dahl, and working as a sound designer assistant for sound designer Matt Skopyk in last summer’s performances from Freewill Shakespeare Company’s; A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Dir. David Horak) and Measure for Measure (Dir. Nancy McAlear). Emma has also formerly volunteered with the Edmonton Folk Music Festival as a stage technician and worked with the Fringe as a livestream audio/lighting technician. Beyond receiving her degree, Emma’s plan is to continue working in the technical field and to eventually land a role as a Head of Department or Technical Director. She hopes that you will enjoy the show.
